I woke up to the picture below this morning so anybody that knows me will tell you that I don't drive on these kind of roads. I worked from home today & was thankful that I brought home work yesterday. Can you tell what this mysterious object is from the picture? Yes it's my new sewing machine! I've had it for a few days & it's been staring at me from the dining room table. I haven't even opened the box until tonight. Here's a better picture of it. Isn't it pretty? I've had some serious thoughts lately about being crafty & making things & I figured a sewing machine is a good start. I had no problem threading the bobbin & putting the thread through the needle but when it came time to pull the bobbin thread up to meet the needle thread, I almost lost it! I seriously think a man made up the way to do this as some evil plot to drive us women crazy! I finally figured it out & now I'm ready to create stuff! :) If you're lucky I'll post a pic of my very first creation. Here's a shot of the needle thread & the bobbin thread playing nicely together. :)

Ethan's Birthday

We celebrated Ethan's 21st birthday today & we were honored to be a part of it. Ethan is such an amazing guy who has made some really awesome choices in his life. We are all so proud of him & wish him the best in his life! :) Of course this gave the family an opportunity to get together & have food! haha I am seriously so thankful for our family. Here are a few pics from the day. Here's Ethan & Katherine Caiden wanted to help Ethan open his presents. Caleb with his Daddy Little Jack Memaw with Jack Caiden playing his harmonica Jonah & Caiden playing the piano together.

Tonight Mom & I were invited to Linda & Melvin's for dinner. Katie made their tasty pasta shells & salad. It was delicious! And we hadn't seen them all week, so it was nice to visit with the Musgroves. :) And Bethany & Caiden were there as well. Here's cute lil Caiden Caiden acting silly with his Nana Caiden with his very own little "laptop" One more pic of Caiden with Memaw. :) Can you tell that I loooove this kid? Oh joy tomorrow is Friday!!!! And I have a three day weekend!

This is a picture of much younger days! Linda, me, Steve, & Allen all dressed up & probably going to Sunday School. Isn't Steve so cute in his little bowtie? Mom showed me this picture today & I thought it would be fun to post it for all eyes to see. :) I can sure see the resemblance between some of the children & grandchildren in the family & us when we were little. Funny how genes work. :)

Christmas

Christmas was a wonderful time spent with family & just enjoying being together. Our family is really close & we all genuinely enjoying spending time together. It's just really neat to see the younger ones starting their own families & being able to watch the excitement of the children as they open up their presents is really cool. And I almost forgot.... we woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful scene of snow! How magical is that? :) This is Stevie wearing his Santa suit. He had to put this on before he could open presents! What a cutie! Here are some of us enjoying our dinner. Everyone getting ready for opening of presents Caiden opening his "mow" that Grandma got him. If you know anything about Caiden, he lives, eats & breathes tractors, or "mows" as he likes to call them. This is Jack & Caleb, two of the cutest babies in the whole world! This is Jonah opening a present with his Popi All four of the little guys.

Tonight we girls (with the exception of Jack & Caleb) :) had our monthly movie night & we had so much fun! We watched the movie Elf so of course we had to decorate in the movie theme. We hung paper chains, snowflakes, & white lights all over the living room. We had spaghetti (minus the maple syrup), & Katie made & decorated sugar cookies & we had lots of candy. Lesa brought her world famous popcorn which we all loooove!!! We had a quiz at the end of the movie and Katie got all 18 questions right, Hannah got 17 right, but of course they've seen the movie a hundred times! The boys were so good tonight. I think they like movie nights. Here's a few pics of the decorations. I actually built a small Empire State Building out of Legos just like they did in the movie & was quite proud of it if I do say so myself. :) Here's cute little Jack & Caleb. Tomorrow is our annual Family Progressive Dinner & I'm so excited! I'll post pics of that too.
