wedding shower
This weekend we had a wedding shower for my niece Bethany who's getting married in August. The theme was Hawaiian & everyone dressed in bright colors. We had a really great time & she got some very useful things for her & Shadrick's new life together.
I realized that Emily will be getting married in less than three months! The time seems to be flying & I'm sure it's going even faster for her & Danny. I'm excited for them to start their new life together. :)

4th of July
This weekend was so much fun! We drove downtown on Saturday night & got a great parking spot just in time to see some fireworks. Then on Sunday night we thought we could get in the same spot to watch the fireworks but there were thousands of cars on the road, all trying to get downtown.I've never seen soooo many people in one place in my life! So we just parked in a grassy median on the interstate & had a perfect view. The show was amazing! Here are a few pics.
Then on Sunday we celebrated the 4th with a cook-out at Linda's house. We had some great food & a wonderful time being with family.

movies in the park
Last night I went to see Wizard of Oz at Centennial Park. It was a really cool experience & something I've never done before! We got there about 6:30 & it was already pretty packed. We had to sit behind where people are able to sit chairs so that was a little frustrating, but we could still see pretty good. There was a ton of people!! Who knew this was such a popular thing to do!
This was the Yogi Bear cartoon they showed before the movie & I have to say it was the lamest cartoon I've ever seen, no offence to Yogi Bear! Even the 14,000 kids that were there weren't interested in it.
Then the feature film!! I was so excited to see Wizard of Oz on the "big screen!" This has always been one of my favorite movies & I wasn't disappointed at all!
Bethany & Shadrick showed up right when the movie was about to start. This is a pic of them eating the yummy popcorn that Shadrick bought. Danny showed up about 15 minutes before the movie ended & Emily made a grand entrance right at the end when Dorothy was saying her classic line,"There's no place like home" & clicking her ruby red slippers together. :) All in all it was a great night & now I'm wondering why I've never done the movies in the park before. I think next summer I will make it a weekly event.
Now I have to try to make it through the day on just about three hours of sleep. :(
But it was worth it!!
