Friday night I went to the Wilson County Fair with my sis. We rode the ferris wheel, ate a funnel cake & saw an amazing bluegrass band perform. This is the view from the top of the ferris wheel. :)
You never know who you might spot at the fair! We saw Uncle Sam...:) Then we ran into the Taylors. Jordan had won this huge banana for a friend. :)
When it was time to leave, we unfortunately searched for our car in the parking lot for 45 minutes. Then we found out that there are 7 different entrances into the fair, not one. When we finally flagged a worker down to tell her that we were lost, she asked us what road we came in on. We couldn’t remember so when she started naming all of the roads & she said a name that we recognized, we said “that’s it”! We hopped a ride on the golf cart & she took us to the field where we parked which was on the other side of the fair grounds. I’m not sure how we got so turned around but I guess it had something to do with thinking that there was only 1 entrance! we missed the fireworks because we were looking for our car. I saw my sister’s “mean mug” because I was making jokes about being lost & she would have none of it! Just kidding Linda!! It was a really fun night!!
On Saturday we went to Underground Bluegrass in McMinville Caverns with Allen & Amber. Whoever came up with the idea of having a concert in a cave??? It was pretty awesome though & the sound was amazing! We even had a bat flying around during the concert! Here are a few pics.
This is a view of the beautiful mountains from the parking lot of the caverns.

The walk to the cave was on this country gravel road.
Then when we got to the mouth of the cave, there was a small bluegrass band there to entertain us while we waited to be escorted into the cave.
A couple of shots walking down into the Volcano Room where they hold the concerts.

After the concert we had dinner & topped the night off with Sweet Cici's yogurt. What an amazing weekend!!

Emily
Emily,
Today is such a special day because it's the day that you were born 25 years ago! I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing you have been in my life. I thought you might be born on my birthday but you decided that you wanted to have your own day that nobody else had. :) You were the best birthday present that I could've ever asked for! You came into the world with so much spirit & independence & those two traits have served you well as you've grown into such a beautiful woman. I'm so proud of the person that you have become & that you are still growing into! Salt Lake City has no idea what's coming their way!!! They'd better get ready! :)
I love you more than you'll ever know!! Happy Birthday!!!!

Because Amber has sworn off Facebook I'm posting the pics on here so she can see them. :) Here's Amber with her newest grandbaby Eve Amy made the most delicious chocolate cake & the best scones! And of course we had tea! :) All of the ladies that attended the tea party. :) Amber opening her gifts Here are a few shots of the youngest attendee to the tea party, Baby Eve. I couldn't resist taking a picture of those sweet little baby lips! :) Eve was stretching sooooo big when she woke up from her nap!

Mothers Day
Mothers Day was so relaxing! The men of the family (and some of the younger unmarried & no-children members of the family) took it upon themselves to do all the cooking, setting up, and cleaning up for Sunday dinner. All of the mothers even got to go first in line, which hardly ever happens. Why does food taste so much better when you don't have to cook it yourself? haha
It was a very relaxing day & made me realize again how much I love my family! And of course if it wasn't for my beautiful daughter I wouldn't be a mother! Here's a pic of us taken at church.
Here are some of the hard workers in the kitchen. I don't have a picture of Mike, but he was cooking the chicken outside on the grill. It was amazing as usual :)
And of course when our family gets together there are lots of little guys!! So here are some of the pictures from the day. :)
Hope all of you mothers had a wonderful day!! I know I did! :)

Easter
Easter Sunday was a wonderful time spent with our church family at an Easter Sunrise service & breakfast, then Easter lunch at our house after church. We also had an easter egg hunt for the little guys. Our family is growing so fast with all the new little ones. We have so many little boys in our family right now! Baby Eve is about to make her entrance into the world & we are really excited to have a little girl in the family! :) Here are a few pics from the day.

Gatlinburg
This past weekend Mike & I took a mini vacation & went to Gatlinburg. We invited Emily & Danny to go too & we had such a good time together. These are the condominiums that we stayed in & they were super nice! There was a little brook that ran along side of the condos & you could hear it all the time. It was very relaxing.
The condo was not far from the main street so we were able to walk to everything. It had a nice balcony & the weather was gorgeous so we sat out there alot. Here's a nice shot of the sunlight.
The first morning we were there we ate at the Pancake Pantry. Mike & I shared this plate of food. Nice pound of butter on the pancakes, huh?
We all went to The Old Mill on Sunday & that is always a nice experience. We sat at a table along the river & watched the ducks while we ate.
This morning as a last "hurrah" we ate breakfast at the Apple Barn. :)
When I read back over this post I realize that I've only blogged about the eating! But the four of us had a really good time just being together & I'm very thankful that Emily married someone like Danny that doesn't mind hanging out with the In-laws sometimes! :)
